Strawberry Cake

Ingredients
- 6 pc. eggs
- 7 oz. patent flour
- 7 oz. granulated sugar
- 7 oz. sliced
- 5 tbsp. Hero Original Strawberry Spread
- 3 tbsp. icing sugar
Directions

Preheat the oven to 180 Cº (gas mark 4). Grease a baking tin with butter and sprinkle with flour.

Whisk the eggs in a large bowl, add sugar, and mix together until the mixture has tripled in volume.

Sieve the flour and, with a spatula, gradually add this to the egg-and-sugar mixture.

It is important that you add the ingredients carefully, so as to keep the mixture as light and airy as possible.

Pour the mixture into the baking tin and bake in the pre-heated oven for 15-20 minutes. When the cake starts to brown, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake to check if it is done.

Remove the cake from the oven, allow to cool for 20 minutes, and carefully remove from the baking tin.

Allow the cake to cool completely and cut it in half crosswise with a large serrated knife. Spread strawberry jam across one half and cover with the strawberry slices. Set aside a few slices.

Place the other half of the cake on top and garnish with icing sugar and the remaining strawberry slices.
